Four-Day Thalassotherapy Rehabilitation Programme on the Athenian Riviera

Located in the heart of the Athenian Riviera with its emerald water and sandy coves, Divani Apollon Palace & Thalasso launches a new Thalassotherapy Rehabilitation package this summer at its award-winning spa. Originating from the Greek word ‘Thalassa’ for sea and ‘Therapia’ meaning therapy, the programme will focus on the therapeutic use of seawater and the marine climate to promote health and wellness, as well as helping guests to recover from and prevent injury and reduce pain, through an extensive 4-day programme of treatments, nutrition and exercise.

The Thalassotherapy Rehabilitation Programme includes:

Thalaxion Salt Water Hydromassage

Therapy combining the principles of cryotherapy and acupressure with the beneficial properties of hot salt water, to promote circulation and the lymphatic system - reducing swelling.

Affusion Shower Hydrotherapy Treatment

A relaxing massage under a warm salt water shower, relieving tension and aiming to improve sleep quality.

Cryotherapy Treatment

The application of cryogenically-cooled liquid nitrogen to specific areas of the body, exposing them to temperatures as low as -162C in order to increase blood flow, and the formation of collagen and elastin - all for a tightening, anti-cellulite and anti-aging effect.

Reflexology Massage

A specialist traditional massage whereby the therapist applies pressure to particular points on the feet, in order to balance the nervous system and improve the function of internal organs.

Relaxation Massage

Massage aimed at deep relaxation optimised by the calming effects of essential oils.

Thai Massage

More energising and rigorous than classic forms of massage, this ancient practice involves the therapist moving the guest into a series of yoga-like poses.

‘St Barths Dream’ Jacuzzi Bath Treatment

Deep relaxation jacuzzi bath enhanced by essential oils from the Caribbean, providing nourishment for the skin.

Guests can also enjoy the benefits of daily access to the Thalassotherapy pool, the biggest in Greece with 16 different areas of water jets to relax and unwind, as well as hammam, sauna and fitness centre.

The Rehabilitation Thalassotherapy package begins with a private consultation from the hotel’s nutrition and fitness instructors, to assess guests’ individual needs and create tailor-made menus of therapies alongside traditional Greek cuisine, designed to deliver key nutrients to boost serotonin and the immune system, reduce stress hormone levels and enhance health. Three personal training sessions are also included, aiming to improve the physical fitness of the guest through a customised programme of pilates, yoga and stretching exercises.
