London’s Country Estate, Spa and Championship Golf Course Offers the Ultimate Staycation

The former family seat of the Earls of Clarendon, the estate dates back to the 16th century and retains many of its original features. The property has been lovingly restored to provide 215 luxurious guestrooms, ranging from contemporary and stylish Superior West Wing Rooms to a grand Presidential Suite.

The estate boasts a world-class, 18-hole championship golf course as well as an expansive spa, which offers an array of transformative treatments and luxurious facilities, including a 22-metre indoor pool, Jacuzzi, heat experience rooms and a state-of-the-art fitness centre.

Guests can choose from three delicious dining options at The Grove – The Glasshouse, The Stables and the Lounges. The Glasshouse currently serves a seasonal, ‘estate-to-plate’ menu and ‘garden-to-glass’ cocktails, with much of the produce handpicked from The Grove’s very own Jemima’s Kitchen Garden. Elsewhere, The Stables promises an informal setting with views of the golf course, where guests can enjoy wholesome dishes and a range of craft beers, spirits and wines. From 17 October, The Stables will host pop-up restaurant Jimmy’s Lodge, which will serve a mountain-inspired menu including fondue, game and other winter warmers. Afternoon Tea, including children’s, champagne and vegan options, is served daily in the Lounges.

During the Spring and Summer months, the Walled Garden area houses a glorious heated outdoor swimming pool, the sandy Ralph’s Beach area, tennis courts and a games lawn.

Family activities include archery, junior golf camps, forest camps, Segway tours, woodland hawking walks, archery, laser shooting, cycling and much more. During October half-term, The Grove will host a two-night family staycation in partnership with Football Escapes, including daily children’s football coaching by former premier-league players.
