Now Boarding: Crowne Plaza Manchester Airport Hotel Opens to Showcase an £8million Refurbishment
The Crowne Plaza Manchester Airport Hotel has opened its doors to showcase the first phase of an impressive £8million refurbishment to its public spaces and 299 bedrooms.
There is nothing ‘plane’ about this airport hotel’s vibrant new open lobby with a sparkling new bar and wide range of colourful seating options in this bright and homely space. The multi-faceted area allows visitors to work, socialise, or relax comfortably with thoughtful design touches and where Starbucks coffee is served as well as the all-day lounge bar open from 10am. The reception area has been redesigned for ease and speed, and guests can arrive early for dinner in the open lobby from 5.30pm and enjoy a modern British and International cuisine featuring a wide range of choices from super healthy to more indulgent treats for weary travellers.
For guests checking in ahead of an early morning flight, 24hour room service is available, plus wake-up calls on request and breakfast starts from 5.30am in the fresh open lobby. The new and improved bedrooms feature high quality Egyptian cotton sheets, large flatscreen TVs, highspeed WiFi, bathtubs and double glazed windows for noise reduction. Every spacious room has a modern and calming colour palate for a peaceful night’s sleep and those who upgrade to Club Rooms can enjoy added comforts such as deluxe toiletries, a King-sized bed and ample working space.
Matt Byram, General Manager for the Crowne Plaza Manchester Airport Hotel commented: “I’m proud and delighted to welcome guests back to the hotel and to introduce our new and improved facilities after this mega refurbishment. So far the response has been phenomenal and what’s really exciting is that there is even more to come with a new Club Lounge and stand-alone restaurant on the way soon. Our travel and business guests will find everything they need here, in between their wider journeys and adventures, whether that is to plug in and catch up or completely relax and switch off. The new facilities will also appeal to Manchester airport and business locals as well as networking groups as a great place to meet and connect.”
Simon Teasdale, Chief Executive Officer for LGH Hotels Management Ltd, added: “We are incredibly pleased with the first phase refurbishment and re-opening of the Crowne Plaza Manchester Airport Hotel. We have invested greatly to ensure the high quality, industry-leading modern facilities and longevity of this important property so that it stands out as a lasting jewel in the competitive airport hotel market. This investment is also part of a wider local picture with the ongoing MAGs (Manchester Airport Group) multi-billion pound Manchester Airport Transformation project, including the massive upgrade of Manchester Airport’s Terminal 2. This 10 year project will bring significant jobs, economic value and business to the area, of which the refurbished Crowne Plaza Manchester Airport Hotel will play a necessary supporting role. The ambitious and well-executed first phase has paved the way for a promising second wave and I’m confident we’ll continue to achieve great success in 2024 and beyond.”
The Crowne Plaza Manchester Airport Hotel is ideally located next to all 3 Terminals and to note Terminal 2 (where the Airport train station is based), is just a 10 minute walk away. Trains to Manchester city centre take just 20mins and the M56 motorway is close by. The hotel offers a convenient airport shuttle service as well as competitive Park, Stay & Fly Packages with 320 car park spaces available.
Additional facilities at the hotel include a 24hour Fitness Centre and 8 versatile meeting rooms with a dedicated on-site co-ordinator. Guests can host meetings or events for 2 to 70 people and enjoy use of the Business Centre.
The Crowne Plaza Manchester Airport Hotel is also part of IHG Green Engage which means it is Eco-certified. This property has made huge commitments towards sustainability and participates in the Green Tourism Programme and has currently achieved Bronze status. The programme measures the property's impact on one or more of the following: environment, community, cultural-heritage and the local economy.
This work and opening completes the first phase of the Crowne Plaza Manchester Airport Hotel project with further refurbishments due to be unveiled in the coming months including a Club Lounge extension, improved guest facilities as well as a stand-alone restaurant.
