Classrooms Go Beyond Four Walls with New Learning Holidays for Children

Learning Sustainable Practices, Balinese Chocolate Making, Surfing, and Much More

two point four, a new family orientated experiential travel operator, has announced a range of educational experiences for young children showcasing that classrooms go beyond four walls and travel can enhance a child’s learning and development.

On a 12-day adventure around Bali, children and parents alike can partake in a range of enriching activities that involve learning a new skill and building an understanding of the local culture.

Starting with a visit to the Green School Bali, a pioneering school aiming to teach kids to be stewards of the planet, children and parents will meet with students and learn about sustainable practices and values. The tour also includes a visit to Rumah Desa where families will learn how to plant and harvest rice using traditional farming techniques before taking part in a cooking class.

Over the next few days, children will partake in a range of activities where they will learn a new skill including Balinese dancing, Balinese martial arts, chocolate making, snorkelling, and yoga classes. Renowned for its endless surfing opportunities, youngsters will also learn to master the waves of Bali’s most kid-friendly spots.

On two point four’s 10-day itinerary around Costa Rica children will partake in traditional dance lessons, a family cooking lesson with local chefs, family yoga, kayaking down the azure Rio Celeste and tortilla cooking classes for budding young chefs. Children will also gain an insight into Costa Rica’s spectacular flora, fauna and birdlife on a guided tour of Paos Volcano National Park, home to some of the most diverse bio-life in the world.

Children will experience local cultures throughout both itineraries with plenty of opportunities to interact with locals whilst learning new languages.

Richard Liddle, founder of two point four says “We are transforming the travel industry by opening up experiential travel to parents who would not have considered it before. Our trips will change you as a person and as a family. This may be through building relationships with like-minded people on the tour, meeting and becoming friends with a local or learning a new skill. The concept of two point four was born out of the year-long adventure I took with my wife and two-year-old son to 18 countries. During the trip we witnessed our son transform thanks to all the experiences he had, he learnt so much during that time. The memories and skills last years beyond the trip too; the food we made with locals in Mexico remains a regular feature of our family meals together for example.”

two point four welcomes children of all ages but is the only operator that specifically arranges adventure holidays for two- to five-years-olds. The trips are fully tailored to families and are specially designed to teach kids about the world beyond the classroom, from local cultures and cuisines to wildlife immersion.

With an average of three to four families per group, children and parents alike can build meaningful connections whilst being exposed to new destinations and experiences. Local knowledgeable guides and professional childcare staff will allow adults to feel fully supported and able to have the time and energy to enjoy quality time with their kids.
