Family Adventure Specialist Teams Up with Annabel Karmel

Parents concerned about taking young children on exotic experiential and adventure holidays need fear no more as new tour operator two point four tackles the barriers to family travel. two point four is pleased to announce an innovative partnership with world renowned cookery author and food expert Annabel Karmel, where handpicked child-friendly recipes will be delivered to families’ doors prior to trips, ensuring mealtimes abroad will be smoother than ever before.

On two point four tours, knowledgeable local guides immerse guests in wildlife, local culture and cuisine. To ensure little ones get the most out of the new flavour-packed foods discovered on their adventure, families will receive special Annabel Karmel recipes as part of their pre-trip welcome pack, themed around their holiday destination.

“Kids are a lot more likely to eat and like the food you give them if you cook it with them first" says two point four founder Richard Liddle. "Making Annabel Karmel’s recipes at home with kids will get them excited about where they are going and give them a taste of the delicious food they will try on holiday."

A passionate traveller, Richard left the successful adventure company he founded in Oman to head off on a round-the-world family adventure to 18 countries across five continents when his son was just two years old. This trip inspired him to launch two point four, a company which welcomes children of all ages but is the only operator that specifically arranges adventure holidays for two to five-years-olds, with professional, accredited childcare staff on hand throughout.

Richard continues “I am firm believer that adults’ sense of adventure doesn’t disappear when they have kids, but until now, no companies have catered to this. Many parents are nervous about taking kids on adventurous holidays, but for my wife, son and me it is such an enriching family experience that I wanted to share my knowledge, and that of other family experts like Annabel Karmel and our wonderful professional childcare staff, to help other families do it too.”

two point four’s small group, escorted tours focus on sustainable and responsible travel and are fully centred around families. The first tours are a 10-day trip to Costa Rica, which includes a visit a Cloud Forest similar to one recently featured in Sir David Attenborough’s ‘Seven Worlds One Planet’, and a 12-day adventure to Bali. Annabel Karmel’s recipes for guests booking these tours include a delicious and easy to cook Bali inspired chicken noodle basket and a colourful Costa Rican exotic fruit salad lolly recipe.

With an average of three to four families per group, children and parents alike will build meaningful connections whilst being exposed to new destinations and experiences. Think wildlife spotting, surfing or traditional cooking classes as a family then leaving the kids with the professional childcare experts for a traditional dance activity while adults enjoy white water rafting, canyoning or waterfall jumping.
