Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa Unveils Revamped Food & Beverage Outlets

Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa, in the North Malé Atoll, Maldives, has unveiled a fabulous line up of stylish new restaurants, bars and fresh new menus in the final stages of a 20M USD, resort-wide refurbishment. A choice of seven bars and restaurants ensures a wide variety of dining options are available to guests, spanning the globe from authentic Thai cuisine to Mexican, Indian, freshly caught local seafood to a quintessentially Maldivian feast.

As the third eldest resort in the Maldives, dating back to 1973, the much-loved resort has embarked on a multi-million-dollar modernisation to ensure it continues to go above and beyond the standards expected of a five-star resort without losing the feel of its surroundings. Over the past year, Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa has been carefully transformed and this is echoed in its revamped restaurants with fresh menus and newly designed bars, an overview of which is outlined below. As a renowned family-friendly, each unique restaurant has a relaxed, inviting atmosphere.

Feast

An integral addition to the completed renovations includes the centrally located Feast restaurant which has been uniquely designed to emulate local Maldivian culture and now boasts lush tropical décor, a cadent coconut roof and a sophisticated white colour scheme. Offering both breakfast and dinner, Feast restaurant comes to life with chefs creating dishes from around the world at live-cooking stations. Feast’s themed beach dinners (including Maldivian Fish Market and Arabian Night) featuring live entertainment are proving to be huge hits with guests.

Sea Salt

Overlooking the idyllic lagoon, Sea Salt is the resort’s fine dining, seafood restaurant offering elegant, outdoor dining next to the beach. Mouth-watering signature dishes include Seafood Furanafushi (slow cooked reef fish, king prawn, scallop and lobster bisque poured table-side) and Ocean Trout & Peas (pan-fried ocean trout, green pea purée, pea shoots, cucumber pickle and horseradish emulsion). Guests can select their fish or lobster from live tanks and watch as the chefs prepare their meal to order at a cooking station - the perfect setting for a romantic dinner.

Masala Hut

Offering a traditional mix of North and South Indian cuisine served al fresco beside the gorgeous lagoon or in a charming thatched roof pavilion. Additional choices at lunchtime include a Indian burger, a Bombay wrap and a vegetable kati roll.

Baan Thai

Authentic Thai cuisine enjoyed in a sleek, contemporary restaurant and where the entire team, from the Head Chef to the service staff, is Thai. A delicious menu brings together the finest local Maldivian seafood and island grown products, such as coconut, pandan and lemongrass, blended with premium Thai ingredients flown in from Thailand each week. Open for dinner, sample dishes include deep fried soft shell crab with garlic and pepper sauce; classic Thai soup with jumbo prawns, lemongrass, galangal, onion, kaffir lime leaves, mushrooms, birds eye chili, coriander; and stir fried fish and capsicums in sweet and sour sauce, onions, pineapple, tomato and cucumber.

Elegantly renovated in a gentle colour palette that does not detract for the stunning Indian Ocean views, Anchorage Bar is the ideal spot for lunch, a romantic dinner or refreshing sundowner with the most remarkable sunset views. Relax on comfortable day beds and listen to live music from local bands as you savour signature cocktails, oh-so-good smoothies and delicious dishes ranging from superfood salads to pizzas, pastas, gourmet sandwiches and grilled fish and meats.
