Refurbishment plans revealed for Strand Palace Hotel
The Strand Palace has revealed the plans for its ground floor refurbishment project that will position the hotel at the top of London’s 4-star hotel offering.
Taking place from the New Year to early summer, the ground floor project will see the reception, concierge, restaurant and bar areas transformed into a stylish hub in the heart of London.
The new public spaces are designed as aesthetically intriguing ‘Salons’ – emphasising the salon concept typical of a palace. Subtle Art Deco influences are integrated into a contemporary design detail and sophisticated colour palette, with bespoke carpets, light fittings and joinery all carefully showcased within a serene, light and uplifting environment, creating a relaxed and tranquil atmosphere. The new public spaces have been designed for guests to enjoy as flexible lifestyle areas, where guests can relax or work wherever they choose.
An inviting tea room with rich art deco finishes will see guests while away the afternoon whilst enjoying loose leaf teas and delicate tea pastries in true English style. The restaurant will champion modern British cuisine and the addition of a private dining room, set in a beautiful rich hue of blue provides a space perfect for celebrations or private meetings. The all day restaurant will serve British grilled meats and small plates in addition to breakfast service. Come nighttime, the space is perfect for social gatherings where in-house guests as well as the public can unwind. The glittering bar with sumptuous leather barstools is the ideal spot to enjoy a relaxing drink after a long day.
David MacRae, Managing Director of the Strand Palace shared his enthusiasm and eagerness for the lobby renovation. “One hundred and eight years in the making, this new chapter of the Strand Palace is immensely exciting and will truly reflect our grand name.”
“Ever since we first opened our doors in 1909, the Strand Palace has put the guest experience at the forefront of all we do. The new ground floor, along with the new guest-rooms is set to offer our guests the best experience possible right here in the heart of London, and we are eager to reveal this project during early Summer 2019.”
The substantial update is part of a multi-million pound investment that has seen the hotel take onboard the transformation of all 785 guest-rooms, and the building’s façade. The majority of the newly refurbished superior and deluxe guest-rooms are now available to the public.
The entire hotel refurbishment is set to be completed by April 2020.
