Mark the year of the pig in style

For those looking to go the whole hog for the Chinese Year of the Pig need look no further than a County Durham restaurant with rooms.

The Impeccable Pig, at Sedgefield opened late last year and has already proven popular among guests who have stayed and dined there.

And every year is the Year of the Pig at the venue’s ten individually decorated rooms, with pig-themed names including Three Little Pigs, Pigs Might Fly and The Dirty Pig.

Each of the lavishly styled rooms includes a seven-foot bed, freestanding round brass-finish bath, large flat screen TV, an Illy Coffee Maker and en-suite bathroom with complimentary Duck Island toiletries

And guests staying in Oinkers, Globe Trotter, Le Cochon D’or or Pigsty – as well as the premier suite, The Whole Hog – can also make the most of a private hot tub.

General manager, Pierre Bertolotti, said: “We’ve put a lot of thought into the theme and it was important to us to create ten individual rooms which all had something special and a bit quirky about them

“The Year of the Pig couldn’t come at a better time and I hope both new and returning guests will use it as an excuse to treat themselves to a relaxing stay, especially if they choose one of the rooms with a hot tub.”

Guests can also make the most of The Impeccable Pig restaurant during their stay, run by head chef Chris Finnigan, who was trained by Raymond Blanc.

Prices start at £125 per night. For more information or to book, visit www.impeccablepig.co.uk or call 01740 582580.
