Down hall announces £1.2 Million west wing refurbishment
Luxury country house hotel, Down Hall , announces a £1.2 million refurbishment plan for its West Wing, due for completion in May 2019. The enhanced space, connected to the main house, provides a dedicated wing for weddings, parties and corporate events.
All of the West Wing’s event rooms will be completely refurbished, creating 4,150 sqm event space with six function rooms and a master suite. New features include a separate entrance through a landscaped garden, private lounge bar, and a groom’s ‘den.’
The award-winning Rachel McLane Ltd has been commissioned by Down Hall to undertake the stunning new design, with the entire wing being refurbished and restored to a level that reflects the grandeur of Down Hall. Room furnishings will complement the historic architecture of the main house with luxurious materials, newly designed lighting and elegant furniture as well as all the latest cutting edge technology to enhance meetings and events.
With the aim of establishing Down Hall as one of the best wedding and conference venues in the UK, a number of unique features will be introduced, including dedicated and separate private rooms for the bride and the groom. The Liddell is a sumptuous 55 sqm suite, complete with a lounge, and has been designed to provide a spacious dressing room for the bridal party. The Den is a private retreat for the groom, his ushers and family, and comes with a wide screen TV.
The new West Wing Lounge provides guests with their own space for post-wedding/function drinks and breakout sessions. The Oxford Room, on the first floor, is licenced for civil ceremonies and provides views of the gardens below whilst the main function room, The Bridgeman, has floor-to-ceiling windows and doors, its own private garden and a capacity for up to 200 guests.
The West Wing also boasts 54 beautiful en-suite bedrooms, some with access to an intimate lounge area allowing delegates/the bridal party to socialise pre-/post functions.
