Sani Resort, Greece, Launches Bear Grylls Survival Academy for 2020

This year, Sani Resort is delighted to announce it will be the first luxury Mediterranean resort to open a Bear Grylls Survival Academy, in partnership with Bear Grylls, one of the world’s most recognisable faces of survival and outdoor adventure. The new Academy adds to Sani’s already impressive portfolio of Academy partners which includes Rafa Nadal Tennis and Chelsea Football Club Foundation. The news cements Sani’s place as a leader in hotel innovation and highlights its commitment to offering guests the most exciting experiences each season. Sani Resort opens for the season on 3rd April.

The Bear Grylls Survival Academy is suitable for guests aged six and older and offers a rare chance to learn Bear Grylls’ famed survival techniques. Tapping into the rising demand from parents wanting their children to stay active, get back to nature and learn a skill whilst on holiday, the Academy encourages guests to get hands-on and into the wild, taking advantage of the 1,000-acre ecological reserve which surrounds Sani Resort. Guests can choose from a variety of courses, including family programmes for everyone to get involved in. Activities include lessons on camouflage and concealment, navigation and raft building. The courses have been designed by Bear Grylls himself and are delivered by a hand-picked team of instructors.

Each course starts at ‘Base Camp’ where guests will learn Bear Grylls’ priorities of survival, before starting on a survival journey through Sani Resort’s wetlands and into the woods. During this expedition, children will learn how to commando crawl, tie knots and pick wild food, along with lots more! Once the sun sets, evening activities include lessons on fire lighting, spear making, setting up camp on the beach and rib boat rescue.

The Survival Academy promises a memorable and challenging experience, whilst also creating a sense of camaraderie and encourages children to make friends with their fellow mini-Bear Grylls!

The unveiling of Bear Grylls Survival Academy is part of a series of exciting announcements from Sani Resort for 2020, which includes the re-opening of Porto Sani after a multi-million-euro refurbishment and the launch of Little Guest and Sani Suite Collection services. These new additions promise to enhance guest stays this year and add to Sani Resort’s already impressive offerings, including seven kilometres of white sandy beaches, almost 40 restaurants and bars, a luxurious marina lined with designer shops and five sumptuous spas. Sani Resort looks forward to welcoming both old and new faces this year to the family-favourite destination and invites adventurers to learn from the best at the new Bear Grylls Survival Academy.
