Barons Eden, the luxury hotel and spa group which owns Staffordshire retreat, Hoar Cross Hall, and Nottinghamshire Day Spa, Eden Hall, has announced the appointment of new Managing Director of Hoar Cross Hall, Michael Stott.

Stott has over 30 years’ experience in the leisure, travel and hospitality industry, having previously held senior positions at a number of award-winning businesses including Macdonald Resorts and Whittlebury Hall & Spa.

With the goal to build on the luxury venue’s recent successes in delivering industry-leading customer service, Stott plans to grow the team, support with professional development and continue to innovate as one of Europe’s largest spas.

Commenting on the new appointment Edward Law, Director, Barons Eden said, “We have a strong and ambitious strategy for Barons Eden and our hotel and spas, therefore it has been important that we get the right team around us to propel us onto the next phase of the business. We are absolutely delighted that Michael has joined us at Hoar Cross Hall, as he has a huge amount of experience in the sector that we know will support and positively affect our business.”

He continued, “Following what has been a challenging period for the industry as a whole, we are now looking to a bright future and have therefore ensured that we have invested heavily in fortifying our teams. In addition to Michael’s recent appointment, we have commenced a strong recruitment drive of nearly 80 people across our two properties, with more to come, as well as a recent key appointment in James St Claire-Jones, our talented Executive Chef at Hoar Cross Hall. This is an incredibly exciting time for us and we are thrilled to be growing the Barons Eden family.”

Michael added, “Now is the perfect time for me to join the already fantastic team at Hoar Cross Hall. After the uncertainty of the last two years, customer experience and innovation has never been more important, and I am looking forward to implementing some exciting new projects across each offering at our incredible destination over the next twelve months.”

Michael also plans to continue supporting the business’s sustainability goals, in order to progress and increase the work that is already being done to lessen Hoar Cross Hall’s impact on the environment.

Barons Eden recently invested £14 million in its Hoar Cross Hall venue, and is continuously looking to the future of its two luxury venues with intentions to execute development projects across both sites over the next 18 months.
