De Vere Beaumont Estate, located in Old Windsor, is donating 15 laptops to nearby Slough based Learning to Work to support the education of young people in the local area.

As schools have had to take lessons online owing to the current lockdown, De Vere Beaumont Estate will donate 15 laptops to Learning to Work to ensure young people have the technology they need to access the learning resources they need during the pandemic. With many families juggling work commitments and supporting their children’s education, having access to multiple devices can be difficult and it’s hoped the donation will be a timely relief with the prospect of continued home learning.

Learning to Work is a not-for-profit organisation which supports students, schools, and colleges to facilitate links between education and the world of work.

Darren McGhee, Venue Director at De Vere Beaumont Estate said: “It is a challenging time for young people having to learn remotely, especially those who don’t have the equipment they need. We are always keen to support our local area, so it is great that we can support Learning to Work and young people in Berkshire by donating laptops to those in need.

“It is important that young people are not at risk of falling behind in their studies so we hope this donation will make a big difference to how they can access remote education to make it easier for teachers and students.”

Rachael Burt, CEO of Learning to Work said: “Thank you De Vere Beaumont Estate for your generosity. This fantastic donation will make a massive difference to 15 families from the local area. Having access to a laptop makes the home learning experience so much more impactful for young people and relieves pressure for parents and carers.”
