Focus Hotels Management Limited reopened Mercure Hatfield Oak in Hatfield, Hertfordshire to provide much needed accommodation for key workers, at the same time pledging a £5 donation for every booking taken to be donated to NHS Charities Together, Covid-19 urgent appeal.

In the first 30 days, the hotel saw a blend of various key workers who are supporting many industries, including NHS staff.

The final total was topped up by Peter Cashman, CEO of Focus Hotels Management Limited, who manages the hotel, ensuring the charity will receive £1600.00.

NHS Charities Together support the 230 charities across the UK that back hospitals with vital equipment, volunteers and capital projects that are in addition to Government funding.

Lynn Hood, Chief Operating Officer of Focus Hotels, said: “We have kept a number of hotels open for key workers but the idea of also being able to support the fight against coronavirus via donation is just one way we can give back to those on the front line.

“With our CEO making a personal donation and gift aid we were able to maximise the amount from the hotel in Hatfield from the 30-day period.”

Focus Hotels has also reopened the DoubleTree by Hilton Heathrow, Doubletree by Hilton Bristol City, Sketchley Grange Hotel and Spa in Hinckley, Mercure Albrighton Hall Hotel in Shrewsbury and Ibis Styles, Reading.  They are hosting key workers from the NHS, pharmaceutical industry, distribution, and construction sectors.
