The Mermaid London achieves renowned AIM Secure accreditation

Leading conference and events venue, The Mermaid London, has achieved prestigious AIM Secure status from the Meetings Industry Association (mia), the only quality standard accreditation recognised by the UK events industry.

The multipurpose events venue, located on the banks of the River Thames at Blackfriars, underwent a vigorous assessment to secure the accolade from mia, the principal association supporting and growing the business meetings and events industry in the UK. This included scrutiny of The Mermaid London’s legal compliance, customer service proposition and experience, ethical codes of conduct, and best practice standards, as well as quality and accessibility checks of its facilities.

Jackie Harding, Commercial Director at The Mermaid London, said: “It is a true honour to be recognised by such a distinguished and authoritative institution as the Meetings Industry Association. AIM Secure accreditation is an incredible endorsement of our skilled and dedicated team here at The Mermaid London and the professionalism and high standards they provide for each and every one of our valued clients. Our membership of such an esteemed body will only enhance this value and we can’t wait to see where it takes us.”

A testament to the independently-owned venue’s professional approach and exceptional facilities, AIM Secure accreditation demonstrates to clients, suppliers and businesses The Mermaid London’s steadfast determination to delivering a first-class service in a supportive and inspiring environment where creativity can thrive.

Kerrin MacPhie, Chief Executive at the Meetings Industry Association, said: “We’re delighted that The Mermaid London is the latest venue to secure our AIM Secure accreditation. The iconic status acts as a distinguished badge to buyers that they’re choosing a service provider that cares about best practice and actively strives to meet and exceed your expectations. With so many dedicated conference centres and hotels, sporting and academic venues to choose from nationwide, the accreditation provides prospects with an easy way of carrying out quality control, which will ultimately support The Mermaid London’s position within the market.”

The Mermaid London is a leading conference and events venue in the capital, with an exclusive use capacity of 1,900 and nine versatile and flexible event spaces, including the City of London’s only 600-seated auditorium. As part of its comprehensive corporate social responsibility strategy, it has pledged to donate £1 from every day-delegate-rate booking and £5 for festive bookings throughout 2023 to Streets of London, a charity providing specialist support to homeless people in the capital.
