The Rome EDITION Celebrates Its First Festive Season
The Rome EDITION offers an exclusive programme of events in Italy’s capital city. From Christmas Punch tastings to New Year's Eve celebrations, The Rome EDITION is set to be a hot spot for locals and travellers alike throughout the month of December.
Organic Baroque: a Festive Tree designed by Dylan Tripp
This year, The Rome EDITION will unveil its first festive tree designed by local artist Dylan Tripp. Inspired by the Roman Baroque period and the Roman Empire, Tripp has created a bespoke tree to celebrate an incredible festive season. The metal sculpture will house golden-like fans made from paper, much like origami, and dry earthy elements inspired by the spirals and fullness of the baroque churches the city is known for. Tripp took inspiration from the rays of the saints' halos, mixing different vegetal patterns and geometric shapes.
In partnership with the Head Bartender of The Rome EDITION, Tripp has created two exclusive cocktails for the festive season. The Red Christmas Punch consists of scotch whisky and mulled wine cordial with aniseed, cloves, cinnamon, apple, nutmeg, butter and sugar. The Anima Noel combines bourbon whisky with strawberry shrub, balsamic vinegar and soda. The dry ingredients and gold accents of the festive tree are reflected in the cocktail, celebrating the festive season throughout the property and engaging all of the senses.
Christmas Punch Tastings
Every Tuesday throughout the month of December, The Rome EDITION invites guests to immerse themselves in the warmth of Punch Room for exclusive weekly tastings where the exceptional team curates an enchanting journey to discover punch cocktails and, in particular, the secrets of creating the perfect Red Christmas Punch.
Accompanied by food pairing offerings, the experience is priced at €35 per person, reservations are recommended.
Christmas Eve Dinner and Christmas Day Lunch
The Rome EDITION invites locals and travellers alike to celebrate Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in the cosy setting of Anima, the hotel's signature restaurant, helmed by Chef Paola Colucci.
For the evening of December 24th, Anima will offer a fish-based menu consisting of four courses. The menu will include the unmissable wild smoked salmon enriched with caviar, crème fraiche and pomegranate; amberjack sashimi accompanied by Russian salad Chef Colucci style and glazed radish; “Gentile” mixed pasta with seafood bisque, lemon and smoked buffalo mozzarella; and roasted sea bass with flaked potatoes, sage, lemon thyme, Bernese sauce and wild herbs. Guests will also be offered a welcome drink and Christmas sweets.
Paying homage to Italian culinary traditions, the Christmas lunch will begin with a first course including poached egg served with smoked potatoes, cream, aromatic herbs, king trumpet mushrooms and salted cured tuna roe pouch. This will be followed by a Roast Tortello with its stock, 36-month Parmesan fondant and savoury wild flowers as well as Guineafowl with chestnuts, pomegranate, brandy sauce with balsamic and cane sugar. A welcome aperitif and a selection of mini pastries are also included.
Both menus are priced at €130 per person, excluding beverages. Vegetarian and children's options are available by request.
New Year's Eve 2024
The Rome EDITION is the perfect spot in the city to welcome in the New Year. For the special occasion, signature restaurant Anima will feature a reinterpretation of the traditional New Year's Eve menu, offering a welcome aperitivo with Sea Bass ceviche, Gillardeau oysters and Gorgonzola blue cheese. This will be followed by four curated dishes based on refined ingredients, including red tuna tataki, tempura cod, egg tagliolini and snapper fillet. Guests can also enjoy a NYE sweet selection, and a glass of Champagne for the midnight toast, with traditional lentils and cotilion. After dinner, there will be live entertainment with a DJ set and a drink included.
The menu is priced at €320 per person, excluding beverages. Vegetarian and children’s options are available by request.
