Courmayeur Mont Blanc is proud to offer its guests a new slope for the 2020 ski season, allowing resort skiers and boarders the opportunity to ski an area only previously accessible to free-riders.

The new Arp slope begins as a 700m skiable Red path which gives access to a north-facing Black piste; a 600m descent with a 70% gradient. While free-riders and off-piste skiers had been able to access to area from the Arp Cable Car, the new slopes will enable resort skiers to enjoy the stunning panoramic views of the 2,750 Arp ridge and the southern side of the Mont Blanc. The exposure of the slope and the altitude guarantee an exceptional quality snow cover and excellent snowfall both at the beginning and at the end of season.

The construction of the slope is also the first step in a larger project of upward development of the Courmayeur Mont Blanc ski area, which will continue with the replacement of the Youla and Arp structures, which expire in 2021. The investment for the construction of the piste was just under €1.5million.

Courmayeur is home to over 100km of on and off-piste ski area offering an excellent mix of perfectly groomed slopes and virgin powder for those bluebird days. With a top lift at 2,755m the resort offers some impressive vertical although it has plenty to offer beginner riders too. Last year, Courmayeur opened two new Arp runs both at 2,750m. The resort is exceptionally proud of its continuous maintenance work that keeps the lifts, runs and infrastructure facilities at peak condition.

Courmayeur Mont Blanc is a dream destination for any mountain enthusiast and a much-loved winter sports destination, with excellent skiing for all abilities. The resort offers superb heliskiing and off-piste opportunities, as well as joy skating, fat biking, hiking, snow shoeing, climbing, cycling and much more. Not only does the resort benefit from spectacular scenery with fourteen 4,000m+ mountain peaks visible, it is home to the new Skyway Monte Bianco, enabling a faster and easier connection to the resort of Chamonix, as well as access to the world’s longest lift-served run, the Vallée Blanche.
