Following the success of the launch of the Cancer Day Retreat earlier this year in March, Our Retreat are thrilled to again be collaborating with The Rook Retreat, deep in the heart of West Sussex, for another free-of-charge event for women in remission to restore mind, body and soul. Up to 12 guests are invited to meet like-minded people and support each other through sharing stories and experiences, listen to motivational, inspiring talks and enjoy a transformational day of yoga and meditation, woodland walks and sound therapy, perfectly complimented by healthy, nutritious meals.

Lisa Carolan, Founder of Our Retreat and Jemma Frizzel, owner of the recently refurbished The Rook Retreat, were encouraged to create an uplifting space for women to come together to rest and recharge, following their own lives being personally affected by cancer. In the rural West Sussex Countryside, guests will feel a million miles away from their everyday lives, and the Cancer Day Retreatwill begin with a freshly made juice to fuel the day whilst learning how to make quick, healthy and nutritional meals with plant-based food influencer, Feed Me Momma

Yoga instructor Jade McClernon, who prides herself on empowering women’s sense of body confidence through yoga and Pilates, will teach peaceful yoga sessions throughout the day, and trained music therapists Tim Wheater and Cherub will teach a sound healing and sound meditation workshop using gongs, drums and crystal sound bowls, to fuel an inner state of relaxation and mindfulness for guests through vibration. Guests can also take peaceful woodland walks throughout the day, in order to reflect and reap the positive physical and mental benefits of movement in nature.

Motivational Speaker Dr Sam Watts will also be at the Cancer Day Retreat, offering an inspirational talk for women on the emotional effects of cancer and life in remission, designed to inspire supportive discussion amongst the women themselves. After beginning his career in cancer research at Southampton Hospital, Sam now owns a thriving Ayurvedic Medicine practice in West Sussex and has dedicated his career to helping hundreds of patients with chronic illnesses successfully manage health holistically.

Hosting a series of unforgettable wellbeing and fitness retreats each year across Europe in Somerset, Chamonix, Sardinia and Ibiza, Our Retreat aims to inspire women through hosting retreats in peaceful surroundings, offering women the chance to create memorable bonds and put themselves first, through activities designed to encourage physical and mental healing.

Our Retreat will host the ‘Cancer Day Retreat’ on the 7th December 2019 at The Rook Retreat venue, West Sussex. Tickets will be free of charge and all-inclusive of meals and activities. For more information or to book, please contact Lisa Carolan at info@ourretreat.co.uk or visit www.ourretreat.co.uk
